My 6 year old has officially become a lego maniac. He just discovered the Lego based video games recently (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Batman) and will spend all day playing them if we let him.

I'm a little jealous of all these cool toys my kids play with. Everything seems so cool and interactive these days. Back when I was a kid, we played with ROCKS and we were happy to have them, because we knew that our parents played with DIRT.

Re: Granting a Wish at Christmas and Why I Love LEGOS

Agree: LEGOS rock! My 8-year old is in love with. He can sit for hours and make things. How cool is that? A toy without a video screen? I. LOVE. IT. Kids need to work with their hands (and their left brain). All this high-tech gadgetry is cool, I'm a gadget freak myself, but I love the quiet, creative toys just as much. Hey...a few colored pencils and some paper work too.

Happy New Year!

Re: Granting a Wish at Christmas and Why I Love LEGOS

yes, i'll have to add lego search to my weekly duties!!

Re: Granting a Wish at Christmas and Why I Love LEGOS

Really great story! It's funny now to be cleaning up your living room and pull off the sofa cushions to see enough legos to build a small project. There is ALWAYS legos under them cushions!

Re: Granting a Wish at Christmas and Why I Love LEGOS

Hope so too! I hope he gets them. He doesn't have any and I just know he would love to play with them.

Merry Christmas!

Re: Granting a Wish at Christmas and Why I Love LEGOS

Boy, do I understand that LEGO passion! I grew up playing with LEGOs, but I didn't have much. In fact, I only had one set, but it was enough to make a few really neat contraptions. We ("we" as in the hubby, 4-year-old son, and I) just started getting into LEGOs again recently. And to help us jump start that transition, I was able to snag 35 lbs. of LEGOs from a lady who was selling her two boys' LEGO sets. The best part was that she gave it to me for $100; she even admitted that she knew she could get so much more for it, but wanted to unload it asap. It includes pieces from so many sets... I'm so overwhelmingly lost!

Anyway, I hope you and your boy win this one! LEGOs are awesome! ^o^

Re: Granting a Wish at Christmas and Why I Love LEGOS

Hey There,

Just in time for the New Year, the adventure-based 3D virtual world that’s safe for kids, Jumpstart.com, is proud to announce their very own CREATE YOUR OWN “JUMPEE” AVATAR CONTEST. I swear they have a billion of them, but they always ask for more. I'm continually amazed at the things Lego creates, but dumbfounded by the things my boys build with their own imaginations. This year, our boys made a few Christmas ornaments out of Lego. I'm thinking of doing a post with pictures of them. They are so cool! Legos sure have come a long way since I was a kid. There was one type of generic set in various sizes. Every been to Legoland? It's one of our favorite places. May you and your son have a bash-building Lego Merry Christmas. As my son's would say, "You can never have enough Legos."

B.
